CAD Technician -
Physical Substations
About the Position
As a CAD Technician in the Physical Substations group, you will be responsible for utilizing computer-aided design systems to support the preparation of physical drawing packages. You will work collaboratively with our engineering teams to deliver quality work in a timely manner and within a defined budget.
Hourly Rate: $25-32/hour
The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in producing physical substation packages including general arrangements, elevations, bill of materials, conduit, grounding, lightning protection, and illumination
- Coordinate with designers, technicians, and engineers to incorporate design decisions
- Accuracy and effectiveness in computer-aided drafting
- Study relevant Codes and Standards to understand applicability to physical substation design
- Work effectively as part of a team and independently with oversight
Must Have - Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- A strong command of the English language
- Possesses effective written and oral communication skills
- Good interpersonal and people skills
- Knowledge of AutoCAD 3D modeling software is a plus
- Knowledge of physical substation design is a plus
Working ConditionsWork Environment: Work is performed in an office setting.
Travel: Minimal: 0 - 5%
Physical Activities: Must be able to lift 25lbs.
