Packaging Engineer
Location: McConnellsburg, PA
Roles and Responsibilities
Packaging Design and Development: Create specialized packaging for heavy, irregular, or large components to protect against damage during shipping and storage.
Logistics Optimization: Design returnable packaging systems (such as steel racks or custom dunnage) for internal and external suppliers, reducing expendable waste.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with vendors, logistics, manufacturing, sourcing, and product engineering teams to develop efficient packaging that aligns with production lines.
Cost Management: Evaluate packaging materials and designs to reduce overall packaging and transportation costs.
Documentation: Maintain packaging specifications, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and documentation within systems like SAP.
Quality Control: Investigate damage reports to identify and fix failures in packaging design or supplier material packaging.
CAD Skill: Creo or any other CAD tool Added advantage.
