About the job Loan Accountant (Remote-Little Rock, AR) Arkansas Talent Group is partnering with a Large Bank in Little Rock, AR to find a Loan Accountant to join their team.The Loan Accountant is responsible for recording, monitoring, and auditing loan-related accounting activity and general ledger data, while providing timely support to the Finance and Accounting teams.
This role is ideal for someone currently in a Loan Assistant or similar role or Accounting Specialist , as this position is focused on loan operations and system accuracy rather than traditional general ledger accounting and month-end close.This role can be based remotely for candidates located in the Central Arkansas area, with occasional on-site presence as needed .Key Responsibilities
Record, maintain, and update loan-related accounting activity, including payments, transactions, and general loan maintenance
Monitor loan data to ensure accuracy of terms, pricing, and system information
Reconcile loan accounts and resolve discrepancies or exceptions
Support loan servicing activities, including modifications, reporting, and inquiry resolution
Ideal candidate will possess:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent combination of education)
At least 1 year of relevant experience in lending, accounting, or other relevant experience
Understanding of basic accounting principles and willingness to learn GAAP application
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ideal Background:
Experience as a Loan Assistant, Loan Processor, Loan Servicer or similar, supporting commercial or retail lenders
OR experience in an Accounting Specialist role with high transaction volume, reconciliations, and systems work
Exposure to loan maintenance, transactions, or account-level activity
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Interest in growing into loan accounting and broader accounting functions
