About the Role

Senior Director, Publisher Sales

Remote

Freestar engineers cutting-edge monetization solutions for websites. By combining industry-leading technology, data, and massive scale, we enable busy site owners to seamlessly maximize revenue while freeing themselves of the hassles of ad operations. Publishers then have more time to do what they do best: create content.

Job Description & Responsibilities

As a Senior Director of Publisher Sales at Freestar, you'll leverage your industry contacts to establish new relationships with publishers. You will act as a Freestar evangelist, creating new opportunities for Freestar's product offerings to maximize revenue for our clients. This position reports to the Executive Vice President, Growth & Publisher Development. Additionally, you will:

  • Expand the Freestar publisher family by strategically prospecting and closing high-impact accounts.
  • Leverage CRM data and market intelligence to forecast long-term growth and identify untapped publisher verticals or new revenue opportunities.
  • Demonstrate extensive product expertise by acting as a strategic feedback loop, translating market needs into actionable insights for the Product team.
  • Lead the internal communication and quarterback the end-to-end execution of complex, non-standard deals that require custom technical configurations or sophisticated strategic alignment.
  • Cultivate and maintain high-level relationships through intentional face-to-face, email, and phone communication with industry decision-makers.
  • Partner with senior leadership to refine sales methodologies and revenue strategies based on real-time competitive analysis and market shifts.
  • Communicate high-level goals and performance results to key stakeholders to ensure organizational alignment on growth initiatives.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to junior sales talent, sharing expertise to help them navigate complex negotiations and refine their execution throughout the sales cycle.
Qualifications:
  • A consistent track record in Publisher Sales
  • 7+ years experience & strong understanding within the AdTech industry
  • An extensive contact list of publishers
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • A customer-focused attitude with relationship management skills
  • The mindset of an Hunter; you drive change and you're self-motivated
  • Creative problem solving capabilities
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
We'd Also Like To See:
  • Excellent verbal, written and formal presentation skills
  • Comfort interacting across multiple teams and management levels within the organization
  • Previous background in the media landscape (linear, digital, or social) is a plus
What You Can Expect In Return:
  • Full-Time, Salaried Position
  • Fully remote company, with collaborative asynchronous teamwork
  • The opportunity to be part of something BIG
