About the Role

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Communications Director based in United States.

This role is a senior strategic communications position focused on shaping and amplifying the global voice of a leading cybersecurity organization. You will be responsible for defining and driving high-impact media and corporate communications strategies that elevate brand visibility and reinforce market leadership in application security and AI-driven threat protection. The role operates in a fast-paced, news-driven environment where timely storytelling, media responsiveness, and thought leadership are essential. You will engage closely with global journalists, industry analysts, and internal subject matter experts to translate complex cybersecurity and AI topics into compelling narratives. The position requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution, particularly in media relations, executive communications, and rapid-response programs. This is a highly visible role with direct influence on external perception, industry positioning, and corporate reputation.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead global media relations and PR strategies to strengthen brand awareness, executive visibility, and competitive positioning in cybersecurity and AI markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier journalists, editors, analysts, and influencers across technology, security, and enterprise media.
  • Develop high-impact communications materials including press releases, media pitches, op-eds, briefing documents, Q&As, and executive talking points.
  • Define and evolve corporate messaging and narrative frameworks in alignment with business strategy and market positioning.
  • Partner with executives and subject matter experts to create thought leadership content, speeches, presentations, and external-facing commentary.
  • Lead rapid-response communications efforts by monitoring industry news and coordinating timely expert-driven reactions.
  • Manage and guide external PR agencies across domestic and international markets, ensuring alignment, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
  • Track media performance, sentiment, and competitive communications activity to inform strategy and optimize impact.
Requirements:
  • 8-10 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications, ideally within high-growth technology or cybersecurity environments.
  • 3+ years of direct cybersecurity experience, including familiarity with application security, DevSecOps, security tooling, and enterprise threat landscapes.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, including generative AI, agentic AI, and emerging AI-related security risks.
  • Proven track record of securing high-quality media coverage and managing relationships with U.S. and international technology and cybersecurity press.
  • Experience leading external PR agencies, including performance management, coordination, and budget oversight.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in both proactive storytelling and rapid-response communications.
  • Strong project management abilities and capacity to thrive in fast-paced, global, and remote-first environments.
  • Strategic mindset with strong executive presence, judgment, and ability to translate technical concepts into accessible narratives.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and market benchmarks.
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan and additional financial incentives.
  • Strong culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth within a scaling organization.
  • Access to ongoing training, learning resources, and career development opportunities.
  • Opportunity to work at the intersection of cybersecurity, AI, and global communications strategy.
  • Remote-first flexibility with engagement in a global communications environment.
