About the Role

This is a remote contract position

AAPC is seeking certified adjunct instructors to facilitate our CPB and CPC Job Ready courses. At AAPC we help take our students from the start of their careers to the peak, by unlocking their potential. The Job Ready program guides students through the most difficult certification exam concepts while preparing them for the workforce. Classes are held twice a week from 7p-9p ET or 9p-11p ET. Top applicants will be subject matter experts who are technologically driven, motivated, meticulous, and have experience teaching in a physical classroom or virtual environment.

Job duties:
  • Facilitate online curriculum by conducting weekly lectures and lab (Practicode®)
  • Utilize digital course materials and electronic code books in lessons
  • Hold weekly office hour after lab sessions
  • Monitor and measure student participation, attendance, and completion of assignments and assessments
  • Record attendance
  • Respond to student queries within 48 business hours
  • Adhere to all Instructor policies and procedures
  • Attend faculty meetings and contribute to process improvement efforts

Qualifications:
  • AAPC Instructor credential (CPC-I) and the CPC and/or CPB credential
  • Minimum 3 years healthcare business experience
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience (online experience preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and time-management skills
  • Advanced technological skills
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate how to solve billing and coding cases

AAPC Values:

DRIVEN | Self-starts and stays highly motivated to achieve ambitious goals. Shares contagious energy and enthusiasm liberally. Takes initiative without always being directed. Demonstrates confidence in decision-making and effectively balances autonomy and authority with accountability.

HUMBLE | Learns, adapts, and improves relentlessly. Seeks feedback without insecurity and implements coaching. Recognizes others' contributions gratefully. Approaches work and relationships with an abundance mentality. Places the needs of others above self.

TRANSPARENT| Integrity-centered, honest, truthful, and trustworthy in all aspects of work. Keeps commitments to external and internal parties. Holds self strictly accountable, valuing the trust placed in them by others.

SUPPORTIVE | Empowers and uplifts others. Listens actively and responds with empathy and understanding. Prioritizes well-being and growth of team members and customers ahead of own interest. Faces challenges together, believing in collective strength and unity.

INNOVATIVE | Entrepreneurial spirit with a scrappy mentality. Dreams big, sees opportunity, pursues full potential, and finds ways to accomplish the impossible. Rolls up sleeves and does real work. Works quickly, intelligently, and flexibly.
