Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Bellevue, WA Type: Contract Contractor Work Model: Remote – offsite Hours: 40.0
Responsibilities
- Design reactor structures and components from concept through final design.
- Develop equipment and component design solutions based on engineering and project requirements.
- Perform scoping calculations and engineering analyses to support design decisions.
- Interface with engineering analysis teams and support integrated design efforts.
- Lead and participate in design reviews, evaluating technical solutions.
- Manage and coordinate supplier and subcontractor technical activities.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Support continuous improvement and application of nuclear industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of equipment/component design experience (M.S. may count toward experience).
- Working experience with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section III.
- Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), preferably using ANSYS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
