The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Elevator Troubleshooter / Adjuster with strong technical knowledge and hands-on field experience to diagnose, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair a wide range of elevator systems. This is a highly skilled field position for a technician who is confident working independently and can identify and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues.
You will serve as a technical expert supporting the safety, reliability, and performance of vertical transportation systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, adjust, and repair a wide range of elevator systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot both proprietary and non-proprietary elevator control systems.
- Diagnose complex electrical, mechanical, and control-system issues and determine the appropriate corrective action.
- Read, interpret, and work from elevator prints, schematics, wiring diagrams, architectural drawings, and power specifications.
- Properly use digital multimeters, diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and other industry-specific instruments to identify faults and verify repairs.
- Execute complex maintenance and service procedures to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient elevator operation.
- Perform adjustments and precision repairs to improve equipment performance and resolve recurring issues.
- Lead on-site repair projects and minor installations, including work associated with modernizing aging equipment.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and follow all applicable Florida elevator codes, safety standards, and regulations.
- Apply strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve issues efficiently while working independently in the field.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in the elevator industry, with significant experience in troubleshooting and adjustment.
- Proven experience diagnosing and resolving complex electrical and mechanical elevator issues.
- Strong technical knowledge of elevator systems, controls, components, and operation.
- Experience troubleshooting both proprietary and non-proprietary elevator systems.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret elevator prints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Demonstrated proficiency using a digital multimeter and other diagnostic/testing equipment.
- Strong independent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work confidently in the field with minimal supervision.
- Must successfully pass a field proficiency test demonstrating technical knowledge and hands-on troubleshooting ability.
- Physical capacity to carry up to 50 lbs. independently throughout the workday.
- Possession of a personal set of hand tools for daily field operations.
- Capacity to pass the Florida Certified Elevator Technician exam.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Advanced experience with elevator adjustment, control systems, and complex power configurations.
- Experience with both maintenance-level servicing and full-scale elevator installations.
- Strong understanding of elevator modernization and equipment upgrades.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
