Enterprise wide strategic and operational responsibility for vendor contracting, reducing total cost of ownership and driving standardization across the entire health system.Responsible for developing a sourcing strategy that will have a major impact on quality, efficiency, patient safety, and cost control.The primary areas of focus include orthopedic, spine and trauma or heart and vascular related supply categories.Coordinates with key service line leadership and physicians to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations on sourcing strategies, practices and procedures.Responsible for management of all activities regarding contracting with suppliers.
This includes but is not limited to supplier selection, contract negotiation, contract implementation, contract utilization tracking, providing contracting support on new strategic programs and projects, and maintaining effective partnerships with our distributors, manufacturers and other suppliers.Supports standardization efforts relating to equipment, consumables, and services.Strong working knowledge of orthopedic, spine and trauma or heart and vascular device industry and remains current on trends and practice patterns in order to be an effective negotiator for high-value and/or high-risk projects.Responsibilities:
