Methuen Construction is a leading self performing industrial and heavy civil general contractor with over 65 years of experience We specialize in the construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities industrial facilities and other critical infrastructure projects Serving private municipal state and federal clients across the Northeast we deliver innovative well planned projects that are completed on time and with an uncompromising focus on safety At Methuen we foster a culture of teamwork respect and a can do attitude that values every teammate and stakeholder The Project Safety Manager is responsible for the oversight of safety for our Manchester NH site The individual in this position will work with the project team to proactively plan safety in the day to day operations and tasks This position reports to the Safety Director This is a full time salaried exempt position Your Role Responsible for proactively collaborating with the project team to develop promote and sustain a positive safety cultureProvide oversight and direction to all direct reports Apply knowledge of construction worksite safety practices and proceduresInspect correct and provide education on safety deficiencies as they occurIdentify and correct problems before they become hazards and report results to designated company representativesApply federal and state specific health and safety regulations and interpret and apply these regulationsEnsure that Project Executives Project Managers Superintendents and others are abreast of all OSHA regulations and the consequences of violating these regulationsVerify that subcontractors are adhering to the Site Safety Management Plan OSHA and all other regulationsEnsure familiarity with Hazardous Communications Confined Space Air Monitoring Job Safety Analysis and Health and Safety PlansTrain employees on health and safety related policies procedures and regulationsProvide information in a clear concise manner with an appropriate level of detail empathy and professionalismBuild and maintain effective relationshipsMaintain OSHA 30 for ConstructionWork independently and use sound judgment capability and discretion with confidential informationYour Education and Experience Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related discipline preferred1 3 years of construction safety experienceMaintain certification in First AidCPR and OSHA 10 30Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Excel Word PowerPoint Procore and Power BIWhat You Bring to the Team Strong team player with a positive attitudeAdapts to changes in the work environmentFollows instructions responds to management directionAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writingInterpersonal written and verbal communication skills and shall be professional and respectfulStrong commitment to safety the team environment and customer satisfactionPrompt and accurate judgment with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as they ariseExcellent time management skillsProven ability to excel in a fast paced environmentWork EnvironmentPhysical Demands This role requires the ability to work outdoors and in all weather conditions along with the ability to navigate and work in a variety of settingsAbility to lift 50 poundsAbility to stand for extended periods of time and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles on an active construction sitePrepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts high precarious places fumes or airborne particles and a variety of outside weather conditionsAble to climb temporary or permanent stairs and laddersAble to bend squat kneel crawl crouch balance and stoop reach on a regular basisSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focusThis role must maintain safety procedures at all times to avoid injuryAble to sit for extended periods of timeAble to function in a standard office settingTravel Job posting location does not guarantee that the position will be in that location;
