About the Role
Contractor Position
Our client is seeking a contractor to provide the following services: The contractor will support the Regulatory Construction Oversight organization within Regulatory Affairs and Licensing by conducting technical inspections related to the construction of Natrium units.
Tasks:
Develop procedures for regulatory oversight of the construction of Natrium unit(s)
Provide inspection oversight of the construction of Natrium unit(s), leveraging in-depth knowledge of NRC regulations and inspection procedures
Independently identify issues of concern, proactively communicate with management within the Regulatory Construction Oversight organization, and recommend regulatory paths that resolve the issues of concern
Key Qualifications and Skills:
18+ years of experience with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), including time spent as a qualified inspector (reactors)
In-depth knowledge of regulations, codes, standards, and guidance related to nuclear power reactors
Ability to work independently and with a questioning attitude
Ability to apply knowledge, skills, and qualifications to a first-of-a-kind design
Bachelor's degree in a technical field desired (desired)
Strong communication skills, including the ability to succinctly and promptly communicate matters of significance across a diverse audience (e.g., contractors, client's management) and work collaboratively to develop solutions to complex problems
The service provider will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and demonstrate a strong desire to foster teamwork
