ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Non-CDL Driver / General Laborer to join our asphalt Patch Team. In this dual role, you will be responsible for safely driving a company truck to transport equipment and tools to and from various job sites. When you aren't behind the wheel, you will work alongside the crew as a general laborer, helping with site prep, shoveling, raking, and maintaining a safe work environment.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Equipment Transport: Safely drive non-CDL company vehicles (trucks and trailers) to haul asphalt equipment, hand tools, and materials to daily job sites.
- Load Securement: Properly strap, chain, and secure all equipment, tools, and materials before transit to ensure safe transport.
- Pre/Post-Trip Inspections: Perform daily safety checks on vehicles and trailers (fluid levels, lights, brakes, tire pressure) and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Logistics Support: Help load and unload materials and machinery at the shop and the job site.
- Site Preparation: Assist the crew with sweeping, clearing debris, and prepping ground surfaces before asphalt application.
- Groundwork: Use hand tools (shovels, rakes, brooms) to spread, level, and smooth asphalt material.
- Traffic Control: Set up cones, signs, and occasionally act as a flagger to ensure crew and public safety.
- Site Clean-up: Maintain a clean and organized job site; pack up all tools and equipment at the end of the day.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Valid Driver's License:Must have a clean driving record (MVR check required).
- Trailer Experience: Proven experience towing and backing up utility or equipment trailers is highly preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs regularly and stand, kneel, or walk for long periods in outdoor weather conditions (heat, dust, cold).
- Reliability: Punctuality is crucial. Our crew depends on the driver to get the day started on time.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
