About the Role

A company in the Bremerton, WA area is partnering with LHH to identify a temporary Payroll Specialist for the next three months. You will be handling weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing for around two hundred employees. Some employees are part of a union so experience processing union payroll would be highly preferred. Also, you will be communicating regularly with internal employees and team members so you need to have professional customer service and communication skills. This position offers a quick hiring process and a hybrid work schedule. Main Tasks:
  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for employees using UKG.
  • Review and audit payroll data, including hours worked, overtime, deductions, bonuses, and commissions.
  • Ensure accurate calculation and distribution of employee wages and benefits.
  • Maintain payroll records and employee information within the HRIS/payroll system.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and tax-related issues.
  • Process new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, garnishments, and direct deposit updates.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end payroll activities.
  • Support payroll tax filings, W-2 preparation, and other required reporting.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Accounting teams to ensure payroll accuracy and process improvements.
Qualifications
  • At least two years of payroll processing experience.
  • Hands-on experience with UKG highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, wage garnishments, and deductions.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and data manipulation.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict payroll deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Pay Details: $35.00 to $38.00 per hour
