About the Role

Accounts Receivable / Payroll Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing organization in Oakland that is seeking an Accounts Receivable / Payroll Specialist to join their team. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering long-term potential in a stable and collaborative environment.

This position will be fully onsite during training and will transition to a hybrid schedule once onboarding is complete.

Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly payroll including earnings, deductions, and adjustments

• Review employee time records, pay rates, and payroll changes in partnership with HR

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations across multiple states

• Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts

• Manage payroll deductions and third-party vendor integrations

• Support accounts receivable functions including invoicing, payment posting, and reconciliations

• Monitor aging reports and assist with collections and discrepancy resolution

• Assist with system data transfers between internal systems and accounting platforms

• Support month-end and year-end close activities

• Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• 3-5 years of experience supporting both payroll and accounts receivable

• Experience with ERP systems and payroll platforms (ADP or similar preferred)

• Intermediate Excel skills

• Prior experience working with large data sets

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information

Onsite in Oakland during training, transitioning to a hybrid schedule

Pay Details

$33.97 to $38.87 per hour, depending on experience
