People Operations Specialist
LHH Recruitment Solutions is searching for a People Operations Specialist to provide day-to-day HR support across leave administration, workers' compensation, benefits, payroll coordination, employee relations, and HR compliance. This in-office role is ideal for a highly organized, discreet, and employee-focused HR professional who understands employment regulations and enjoys supporting both employees and managers.
Key Responsibilities
• Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, parental leave, military leave, PTO, personal leave, and applicable state leave requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave requests, accommodations, and return-to-work processes.
• Coordinate leave cases with third-party administrators, insurance carriers, healthcare providers, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate HR documentation, leave records, employee records, and compliance-related information.
• Support workers' compensation coordination, benefits inquiries, payroll questions, onboarding, offboarding, and employee communications.
• Assist with HR policy updates, compliance initiatives, reporting, data analysis, and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of HR, recruiting, or people operations experience; high-volume or industrial environment experience is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of employment law, EEO compliance, onboarding requirements, leave administration, and HR best practices.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Strong investigative, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems; experience with UKG/Kronos is a plus.
• Positive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
Additional Details
• This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.
• The role is fully in-office, on the Southside of Richmond, Virginia.
• Compensation is $70,000 annually.
• The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Pay Details: $70,000.00 per year
