LHH is seeking an experienced on-site Quality Manager in Skokie, IL to lead and continuously enhance our Quality Management System (QMS) for a growing manufacturer of custom cable assemblies, wire harnesses, electromechanical assemblies, and connector solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customers, regulatory, and industry requirements while driving a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence throughout the organization. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Salary: $95K - $120K annually (commensurate with experience) + 10% bonus
Key Responsibilities- Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and customer requirements.
- Oversee quality assurance, quality control, supplier quality, customer quality, and corrective action programs.
- Establish and monitor key quality metrics, including First Pass Yield (FPY), defect rates, customer returns, supplier performance, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
- Serve as the primary quality contact for customers, leading complaint investigations, and corrective actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis using quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagrams, and Pareto Analysis.
- Manage internal, customer, supplier, and third-party audits.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, rework, and customer returns.
- Lead and develop Quality Inspectors and Quality Engineers while promoting a proactive quality culture across the organization.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment, including 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, quality systems, auditing, SPC, CAPA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in cable assembly, wire harness, electronics manufacturing, connector manufacturing, or industrial assembly is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred Certifications- ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CMQ/OE)
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification
- Strong customer focus and leadership skills.
- Expertise in quality tools, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives while driving measurable quality and operational improvements.
- Commitment to building a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
