About the Role

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Radiology Tech is under minimum supervision supervises and directs the activities of technologist working and/or rotating through the department 
including their discipline and performance while in that area. Completes established competencies for the position within designated 
introductory period. Other related duties as assigned

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinates work flow within the department and other areas of the hospital to assure efficient service.
  • Provides protection to patient and self in accordance with prescribed radiation safety guidelines.
  • Implements protective measures to prevent patient injury due to thermal, electrical, mechanical, laser, chemicals and radiation sources 
  • Provides professional and technical guidance and confers with medical staff as appropriate
  • Assures availability and functioning of supplies and equipment
  • Enforces and adheres to personnel policies. Makes recommendations for hiring, firing and promoting staff 
  • Oversees and directs the Imaging students actions during clinical rotations; evaluates assigned students
  • Assumes the responsibilities of the department Director/Coordinator in their absence
  • Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
  • Maintains safe environment
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound or MRI
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree 
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years technical experience. 2 years experience at supervisory level.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 2 years of experience at supervisory level
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist 
(ARRT) or equivalent depending on specialty. Possession of current Texas Medical Board (TMB) license (if ARRT 
Registered in ionizing radiation)

REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life 
Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
