About the Role

Rail Operations Coordinator | Fortune 500 Energy Company
We're looking for a Rail Operations Coordinator to support rail transportation, fleet management, and logistics operations for a leading Fortune 500 Energy Client. If you have experience in rail operations, transportation logistics, supply chain coordination, or freight movement, this is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the efficient movement of energy products across North America.
What You'll Do:
  • Track and monitor railcar movements using transportation management and railroad systems
  • Investigate delayed railcars by reviewing shipment status, researching records, and coordinating with railroads
  • Manage railcar billing, EDI-related issues, and transportation documentation including bills of lading, diversions, and reships
  • Maintain detailed status logs to document railcar issues, delays, and corrective actions
  • Coordinate with railroads, terminals, storage facilities, and internal stakeholders to resolve service disruptions
  • Analyse rail movement data, identify trends and cost drivers, and develop operational reports
  • Support rail fleet allocation, empty car supply management, and shipment visibility across multiple locations
  • Download, import, analyse, and report transportation data using Excel and SAP-related systems
What You Bring:
  • Experience in rail operations, freight transportation, logistics, or supply chain management
  • Strong understanding of rail networks, rail stations, rail codes, and the end-to-end freight movement process
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate shipment delays and resolve operational issues
  • Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables, data imports, reporting, and analysis
  • Experience working with transportation management systems; SAP experience is a plus
  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to build relationships with carriers and stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Pay Details: $29.00 to $32.00 per hour
