Safety Manager - Warehouse Operations and Fleet LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Safety Manager for a growing Third-Party Logistics (3PL) organization.
T his position will serve as the leader for all environmental, health, and safety initiatives within a fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment. The Safety Manager will partner closely with operations leadership to promote a culture of safety, ensure regulatory compliance, reduce workplace incidents, and implement proactive safety programs. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting warehouse, distribution, logistics, or transportation operations and possess a strong understanding of OSHA regulations, risk management, and employee safety training.
Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and manage safety policies, programs, and procedures across warehouse and distribution operations.
- Partner with operations leadership to foster a strong safety culture focused on employee engagement and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA requirements.
- Develop and manage fleet safety programs to ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA and company transportation safety standards.
- Monitor driver qualification files, motor vehicle records (MVRs), and safety performance to ensure regulatroy compliance.
- Conduct regular facility safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and follow-up activities.
- Track and analyze safety performance metrics, including incident rates, near misses, and workers' compensation trends.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for warehouse associates, supervisors, and management teams.
- Oversee new hire safety orientation programs and ongoing employee safety education initiatives.
- Manage emergency response planning, evacuation procedures, and business continuity preparedness activities.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Operations teams regarding workplace injuries, return-to-work programs, and employee accommodations.
- Ensure proper safety practices related to powered industrial equipment, material handling, dock operations, and warehouse traffic management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing risk, improving safety performance, and enhancing operational compliance.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of safety leadership experience within a warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, transportation, or 3PL environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, and risk management practices.
- Experience conducting incident investigations, hazard assessments, and compliance audits.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement proactive safety programs that reduce workplace incidents.
- Strong presentation and training skills with the ability to engage employees at all organizational levels.
- Experience managing workers' compensation, injury prevention, and return-to-work programs preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to safety management.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or similar certification is strongly preferred.
Salary: $75,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
