We're partnering with a well-established manufacturing company in Louisville that is looking to add a
Senior Accountant to its finance team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this person will take ownership of the month-end close process for multiple locations, support financial reporting, coordinate the external audit, and serve as a key finance partner to operations. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys a broad accounting role, wants visibility with leadership, and likes working closely with plant operations.
What You'll Be Doing - Lead month-end close activities for facilities in Louisville, Boston, and Texas
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, allocations, and general ledger reconciliations
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances
- Assist with monthly financial reporting and management reporting packages
- Analyze operating results and investigate financial variances
- Partner with plant managers and operations leaders to better understand expenses and business performance
- Manage fixed assets and related reporting
- Oversee corporate credit card accounting and expense reporting activities
- Coordinate the annual external audit process, including gathering support and managing auditor requests
- Support process improvements and reporting initiatives that improve financial visibility across the business
What They're Looking For - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Approximately 5+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Hands-on experience with:
- Month-end close
- Journal entries
- Account reconciliations
- Financial reporting
- General ledger accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations and leadership
Nice to Have - Manufacturing experience
- Sage ERP experience
- Audit support experience
- Multi-site accounting experience
