About the Role

We're partnering with a well-established manufacturing company in Louisville that is looking to add a Senior Accountant to its finance team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this person will take ownership of the month-end close process for multiple locations, support financial reporting, coordinate the external audit, and serve as a key finance partner to operations. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys a broad accounting role, wants visibility with leadership, and likes working closely with plant operations.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead month-end close activities for facilities in Louisville, Boston, and Texas
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, allocations, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting and management reporting packages
  • Analyze operating results and investigate financial variances
  • Partner with plant managers and operations leaders to better understand expenses and business performance
  • Manage fixed assets and related reporting
  • Oversee corporate credit card accounting and expense reporting activities
  • Coordinate the annual external audit process, including gathering support and managing auditor requests
  • Support process improvements and reporting initiatives that improve financial visibility across the business
What They're Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Approximately 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Month-end close
  • Journal entries
  • Account reconciliations
  • Financial reporting
  • General ledger accounting
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations and leadership
Nice to Have
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Sage ERP experience
  • Audit support experience
  • Multi-site accounting experience
