About the Role

Staff Accountant LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing manufacturing company. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close activities, and supporting tax, reporting, and compliance functions. This position is Direct Hire (permanent placement) and is 100% onsite in Hebron Kentucky. Pay will range between $65K and $80K annually. Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Analyze financial data and investigate account variances.
  • Support inventory accounting, including inventory reconciliations and cost analysis.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by gathering documentation and preparing schedules.
  • Prepare financial reports and management reporting packages.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of inventory accounting and cost accounting concepts.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing sales and use tax filings.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • CPA designation or progress toward certification is a plus.
