About the Role

Accounts Payable Lead
Our client, a well-established and growing organization in the construction industry, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to join their accounting team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounts payable operations, ensuring invoice accuracy, supporting process improvements, and serving as a key resource for both internal stakeholders and vendors.
This position is ideal for an accounts payable professional who enjoys leading a small team, improving processes, and working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Position Details
  • Title: Accounts Payable Lead
  • Location: Lake Oswego, OR
  • Schedule: Onsite, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Compensation: $30-$40/hour
  • Duration: 3-6 month contract
  • Reports To: Accounting Manager
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee daily accounts payable operations for a high-volume environment.
  • Ensure accuracy of invoice processing, including three-way matching and appropriate coding.
  • Direct and support the accounts payable team in daily activities and workflow management.
  • Review and reconcile accounts payable transactions and vendor statements.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice, purchase order, payment, and vendor discrepancies.
  • Coordinate payment processing and monitor invoice approval workflows.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records and support month-end accounting processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance internal controls.
  • Assist with ongoing process improvement initiatives and system optimization efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years of accounts payable experience required.
  • Previous lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a high-volume AP environment.
  • Strong understanding of invoice processing, vendor management, and account reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience learning and working within new ERP or accounting systems.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
