About the Role
Merchandising Associate, Diamond Fashion
Richline Group, a Berkshire Hathaway Company
Position Location: New York, New York, United States (on site)
As a Merchandising Associate at Richline Group, Inc., you will be responsible for supporting Senior Merchants for all their needs related to Merchandising and Product Development.
Job Duties Include:
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks as assigned
Read and respond to e-mails in a timely and professional manner
Train to be proficient in estimated costing
Train to be proficient in Navision costing/building and basic navigation of system
Train to be proficient in all phases of the Gem/Pearl/Diamond product development process
Meet with Procurement Department to source findings
Assign style numbers to product along with designated (by the merchant) sample order quantities
Maintain product trackers
Analyze detailed cost components in computer systems to ensure product is built accurately
Prepare design presentation for Merchandising…i.e. story boards, sketches etc.
Communicate with vendors (local and overseas)
Ensure new product samples are ordered and received on a timely basis
Process new samples including weight verification and system updates of cost components
Working with Quality Assurance Dept. to make sure new product meets standards for manufacturability
Ensuring that new samples are transferred to appropriate sales lines
Follow up to make sure all the samples are photographed
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Excellent interpersonal skills
Deadline oriented with excellent presentation skills
Strong communication and customer relations skills (Verbal and Written)
Excellent math skills
PC Skills (Microsoft Office)
Ability to work independently and thrive under pressure
Fashion and trend oriented
Minimum 1-2 years of related experience
Basic rendering/design and CAD image understanding
Basic understanding of jewelry manufacturing process
Strong understanding of product development process
Degree in related field preferred
