About the Role
Summary:

Responsibilities:
Design and develop instructor-led (classroom) and on-the-job (field-based) training for apprenticeships in the Power Generation utility industry.
Perform detailed task analysis for hydro utility workers performing complex, high-risk, hands-on work.
Create hands-on practice activities, student guides, facilitator guides, and scenario-based learning materials.
Develop assessments, simulations, videos, and other instructional media to support applied skills development and job performance.
Define learning objectives and course structure aligned to stakeholder needs and safety requirements in remote learning environments.
Work under the direction of the Senior Instructional Designer to apply company standards, guidelines, and templates.
Participate in milestone meetings with subject matter experts, including task analysis, alpha, beta, train-the-trainer, and pilot sessions.
Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation.
Available during office hours: 8am to 5pm (PST) and able to meet in person for milestone meetings.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience developing instructor-led training for complex, hands-on skills, such as electrical utilities or related industries.
Bachelor's degree in adult education or related areas of study.
Experience in instructional design methodologies and technical writing.
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams.
Ability to self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables on time.
Collaborate closely with team and subject matter experts to proactively communicate concerns, issues, and risks.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with hydroelectric operations, apprenticeships, mechanical engineering, or machining.
Master's degree in instructional design or education-related areas of study.
Experience with QuestionMark and Author-It.
Skilled in graphic design.
Teaching experience.
Previous Client Academy experience.
