Are you looking for an opportunity to make a direct impact on patient care in a fast-paced critical care environment? Join Barnes-Jewish Hospital as a Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, where you'll serve as a trusted medication expert and key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this role, you'll provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to critically ill patients through interdisciplinary rounds, medication management, and collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Working alongside an experienced and supportive team, you'll have the opportunity to advance your clinical expertise while practicing at the top of your license in one of the nation's leading academic medical centers. You'll provide direct patient care across a variety of ICU settings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage complex, critically ill patients.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Evaluates and recommends appropriate drug therapy to achieve optimal cost-effective patient outcomes, by working directly with physicians, other health professionals, and patients. Participates in the development, provision and evaluation of comprehensive pharmaceutical care and quality assurance programs through scholarly activities. Serves as a resource to the pharmacy staff and other hospital departments.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the overall status of the patient’s health condition and evaluates medication profile for optimal patient outcomes. Monitors therapy and goals of care. Documents all activities and communication as appropriate.
  • Participates in professional development and research activities.
  • Contributes to performance improvement, clinical effectiveness, drug use evaluation, and HSO/BJC committee activities.
  • Participates in the education and training of pharmacy staff, residents and students, and serves as a role model and mentor.
  • Participates in the identification and implementation of targeted drug cost reduction programs.
