About the Role

Electrical Project Manager / Estimator – S&W Contracting Co., LLC

Job Overview

  • Company: S&W Contracting Co., LLC
  • Salary/Pay Rate: $110,000 – $130,000 per year, plus performance-based commission
  • Location: Murfreesboro, TN
  • Employment Type: Full Time
  • Required License: Valid driver’s license

The Opportunity

S&W Contracting Co., LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager with strong, hands-on electrical estimating experience.

This is a true dual role: you will prepare accurate estimates and competitive bids, then manage awarded commercial, industrial, and traffic signalization projects from planning through closeout.

The position requires direct electrical estimating experience alongside project-management experience. You will work closely with clients, field leadership, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver properly estimated, efficiently planned, and successfully completed projects.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Estimating and Preconstruction
  • Perform detailed electrical takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor estimates.
  • Prepare competitive bids, proposals, project budgets, and cost forecasts using electrical estimating software.
  • Review plans, specifications, and single-line diagrams to identify scope gaps and project risks.
  • Project Management
  • Lead full lifecycle project management for commercial, industrial, and traffic signalization contracts to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Drive financial efficiency and account profitability by actively tracking project costs through work-in-progress (WIP) reporting tools.
  • Oversee field labor, material allocation, and subcontractor schedules to optimize jobsite productivity.
  • Enforce rigorous adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building standards, and corporate safety policies.
  • Develop project designs, interpret single-line schematics, and resolve site challenges proactively alongside field leadership.
  • Expand client relationships and secure new commercial infrastructure opportunities to increase regional market share.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience managing and estimating commercial or industrial electrical construction projects.
  • Direct, hands-on electrical estimating experience, including takeoffs, labor and material pricing, bid preparation, project budgets, and cost controls.
  • Proven knowledge of electrical design principles, blueprint reading, and current National Electrical Code requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with professional electrical estimating tools, project-management software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Established network of commercial or industrial client relationships and regional subcontractor connections.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
  • A proven history of working with a reliable supporting crew or field team and the ability to bring trusted team members onboard as projects and staffing needs grow. This is strongly preferred, but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary of 110,000–130,000 per year with multi-tiered bonus potential, including annual bonuses, performance bonuses, and commission.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options plus Health Savings Account (HSA) coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement savings program featuring employer matching contributions.
  • Paid time off, including vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, and paid parental leave options.
  • Travel per diem provided for required field travel outside the primary location.
  • Access to ongoing safety and technical training, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) courses, and professional-development resources.
  • Safety equipment supplied directly by the company.
  • Regular company social events and collaborative team initiatives.
