Job Overview
Facility Innovations Group Inc is seeking a VP of Construction to lead construction operations from preconstruction through closeout, setting the strategy for how projects are staffed, scheduled, and delivered. This role owns safety performance, budget and schedule outcomes, and subcontractor and client relationships across the project portfolio, and works closely with Preconstruction, Operations, and Business Development to keep growth and delivery capacity aligned.

Key Responsibilities
- Own construction operations strategy and execution across all active projects, including staffing plans, scheduling standards, and quality benchmarks.
- Set and monitor safety performance targets; champion a proactive safety culture and ensure OSHA and site-specific compliance across every jobsite.
- Review and approve project budgets, schedules, and change orders; hold project teams accountable for cost, schedule, and margin performance.
- Build and lead a team of project executives, project managers, and superintendents, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
- Serve as the senior point of contact for key clients, owners, and architects on major projects, resolving escalations and protecting long-term relationships.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with major subcontractors and suppliers, including master service agreements and preferred-vendor programs.
- Partner with Preconstruction and Business Development to evaluate new opportunities, review bids, and align delivery capacity with the sales pipeline.
- Standardize construction processes, reporting, and technology (e.g., Procore) across the portfolio to improve consistency and visibility for leadership.
- Report portfolio-wide performance, risks, and forecasts to the executive team and ownership on a regular cadence.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements across projects and jurisdictions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.
- 12+ years of progressive construction management experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple concurrent projects.
- Proven track record delivering commercial construction projects on time and within budget, ideally in retail, multi-site, or facilities-focused portfolios.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, risk management, and industry-standard project management software (Procore or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and retain high-performing field and project management teams.
- Excellent negotiation, client-relationship, and executive communication skills.
- OSHA 30 certification required; PE, PMP, or LEED credentials a plus.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to project sites.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to visit active construction sites, including walking uneven terrain, climbing ladders/stairs, and wearing required PPE.
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods in an office setting.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
