Assistant Project Manager – Support High-Impact Commercial & Industrial Metal Building Projects
Job Overview:

The Opportunity:
You will serve as a key operational support partner, driving project success alongside seasoned Lead Project Managers on complex commercial and industrial builds. This role offers hands-on growth in a stable, family-oriented culture that values technical precision and professional development. You will transition project blueprints into real-world deliverables while mastering the nuances of Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) systems.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Assist the Lead Project Manager in driving project schedules, tracking budgets, and managing daily field deliverables.
- Review and interpret detailed blueprints, shop drawings, and erection plans to ensure complete project accuracy.
- Track Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and material deliveries to keep job site crews fully supported.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely material arrivals and efficient job site logistics.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor build progress, verify quality control, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Prepare clear daily logs, weekly progress reports, and documentation for client updates and team handoffs.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, structural drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills necessary for tracking multi-phase project deliverables.
- High level of proficiency with computers, mobile technology, and office software suited for field-to-office coordination.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to local and regional job sites.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in project coordination or assistant project management within commercial construction.
- Educational background or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) or structural steel erection workflows.
- Experience utilizing construction management tools such as CompanyCam, QuickBooks Time, or Autodesk.
