The Opportunity
Dual Fuel is seeking a Site Superintendent to serve as the primary on-site authority for active mechanical, plumbing, and energy installation projects across the NYC metro area. In this high-impact field role, you will take full ownership of site quality, safety, subcontractor management, and daily construction workflows from mobilization through close-out. You will drive project execution on-site while maintaining real-time communication with project management to deliver complex commercial boiler and MEP retrofits safely and on schedule.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Submit detailed Construction Daily Reports and Safety Reports every day via company management platforms to document crew activity, site hazards, and project progress.
- Direct internal foremen, trade crews, and subcontractors in executing complex commercial boiler, heating, and MEP installations per engineering specs.
- Prepare and manage two-week construction look-aheads while tracking man-days burned against project budgets to flag schedule deviations early.
- Enforce rigorous quality control standards, job hazard analyses, hot works permits, and site safety compliance throughout project execution.
- Coordinate field sequencing between internal trades, equipment deliveries, and building operators to maintain critical path schedules.
- Facilitate on-site meetings with engineers, clients, and municipal inspectors while flagging scope changes and field conditions to project managers.
- Conduct operational handoffs and client training on newly installed mechanical equipment upon project completion.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial MEP construction leadership experience with deep knowledge of commercial boilers and heating systems.
- Advanced working knowledge of steam heating systems, hydronic heating and cooling, pumps, fuel oil systems, and NYC mechanical codes.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction schematics, architectural drawings, RFIs, and technical submittals.
- Proficiency in using project management and field communication software for daily reporting and schedule tracking.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License, OSHA 30 Certification, and an active NYC SST Card (40-Hour).
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience with combined heat and power (CHP) cogeneration systems, chillers, or general HVAC retrofits.
- Direct experience working on prevailing-wage, NYCHA, and affordable housing portfolio projects.
- Familiarity with field service and construction management platforms such as BuildOps, ServiceTitan, Procore, or MS Project.
