About the Role
Role Specific Responsibilities
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all vessel machinery on their watch, as directed by the Chief Engineer
Ensures the preventive maintenance has been done on all machinery, outlined in the vessel maintenance schedule
Ensures tools, equipment, parts, and supplies are inventoried, cleaned and organized
Completes necessary paperwork (engine room logs, preventative maintenance work orders, supply orders, equipment lists, etc.)
Maintains cleanliness of all machinery spaces
Compliance with the Safety Management System
Compliance with applicable regulations
Reports unsafe conditions to your supervisor and take action to prevent accidents
Performs additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Licensing Requirements
Possess, at minimum, a DDE 4000 USCG License
Knowledge of all vessel systems; hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, diesel, propulsion, and auxiliaries
Possess a current Passport
Possess a current TWIC
Skills with welding and carpentry are preferred
