Outlier connects subject matter experts with AI training projects
Outlier is one of the world's largest expert platforms, connecting a network of over 700,000 MAs, PhDs, and college graduates worldwide to improve AI models by providing expert human feedback.
Experts on Outlier work wherever and whenever they work best. They are paid weekly based on work completed and gain real AI experience. For example, a number of Outlier experts were recently cited in a 2026 Nature publication.
Qualifications
Hands-on professional experience serving individual clients in one or more of:
Personal tax — preparing individual (1040) returns, personal tax planning, capital-gains, self-employment/quarterly taxes.
Investments & retirement — advising individuals on portfolios and retirement accounts (asset allocation, rebalancing, 401(k)/IRA/Roth, Social Security).
Estate planning (non-attorney) — estate and gift tax, trust administration, beneficiary planning, fiduciary accounting.
Debt & life events — student loans, mortgage refinance, credit-card payoff, home affordability, 529/college planning.
Equity comp & self-employed finances — RSUs, stock options, ESPP, or freelancer/self-employed personal cash-flow.
What you will be doing
Writing simple prompts that will act as a starting point for AI models
Reviewing, analyzing, and ranking AI models' chains of thought for correctness and approach
