About the Role

Graduate School Of Nursing And Health Professions Ambassador

We are seeking a dynamic, practicing Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to serve as the face of our graduate health programs. In this pivotal role, you won't just be "selling" a degree; you will be inspiring the next generation of healthcare leaders who are committed to advancing equity, social justice, and transformative education in service to diverse communities.

As an Ambassador, you will bridge the gap between clinical practice and higher education. You will leverage your professional expertise and passion for the field to connect with prospective students, sharing the "real-world" value of our programs and the mission-driven heart of our university.

The primary responsibility of this position to collaborate with the GSNHP Dean, Enrollment Management, and Strategic Partnerships in the recruitment of students for the GSNHP. This is a part-time position with the expectation of 15-20 hours per a week. The position will report to the Dean of GSNHP. Duties require excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and coordinate multiple tasks.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Prospective Student Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for inquiries regarding the NP, DNP, and other graduate health pathways.
  • Event Representation: Lead information sessions, webinars, and open houses with an enthusiastic and welcoming presence.
  • Mentorship & Advising: Provide "career-visioning" sessions for applicants, helping them understand the transition and worth from RN to APRN or into other specialized healthcare roles.
  • Outreach & Networking: Attend professional conferences and local clinical sites to build relationships with potential students and healthcare partners.
  • Content Collaboration: Partner with the marketing team to create authentic social media content, "Day in the Life" features, and blog posts that highlight the university's mission.
  • Digital Engagement: Actively use various platforms for promoting the brand of AU and GSNHP programs and engaging with potential students.
  • Mission Integration: Communicate Antioch's values of social justice, equity, inclusion, and learner-centered education in all recruitment and outreach activities.

Qualifications include:

  • A current, unencumbered APRN license and a Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing.
  • Three years minimum of APRN clinical experience
  • Excellent communication skills with approachability, high-energy, empathetic, and a champion for healthcare professions
  • Ability to engage diverse populations with empathy, professionalism, and cultural humility

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusive healthcare.
  • Experience with public speaking, student mentorship, recruitment and professional outreach.
  • Ability to work independently while being able to coordinate multiple projects and priorities.

Hours of employment are part-time; 20 hours per week; non-exempt position serving a national university. The work schedule will be established in consultation with supervisor.

Work location is remote – residing in either Los Angeles or Santa Barbara, California; some travel may be required.

To apply, please email a cover letter, resume/CV, and three professional references with contact information to Employment@antioch.edu. In the subject line of the email, please state GSNHP Ambassador.
