A well-established and highly respected civil engineering and land development consulting firm in the Lake Hopatcong, NJ area is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer (PE) to join its leadership team.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer who is interested in growing into firm leadership and eventual partnership. The firm has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering services while maintaining long-standing relationships with municipalities and private clients throughout the region.
The incoming engineer will play a key role in project leadership, client management, and mentoring junior staff, while helping guide projects from concept through approvals and construction.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow relationships with municipal and private sector clients
Lead multidisciplinary project teams on land development and civil engineering projects
Review, approve, and seal engineering plans and reports
Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
Represent projects before municipal planning and zoning boards
Mentor and develop junior engineering staff
Support business development and strategic growth initiatives
Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
5–10 years of civil engineering experience, ideally within land development consulting
Experience managing projects and interacting directly with clients
Comfortable presenting at planning board and zoning board hearings
Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
Proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred)
