TRIO Upward Bound Math Teacher - Advertisement


Part-Time | Seasonal


Are you passionate about helping students succeed in math and prepare for college? The Upward Bound Program is seeking an enthusiastic and certified Math Teacher to inspire and support high school students.


Schedule



  • 11 Saturday sessions (approximately two per month)

  • November through April

  • 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

  • Location: Mercyhurst University


Position Responsibilities



  • Teach engaging mathematics lessons to high school students.

  • Prepare lesson plans, assignments, and assessments.

  • Monitor student progress and foster academic success.

  • Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education, Secondary Education (Math), or related field.

  • Active Pennsylvania Mathematics teaching certification.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Zoom.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively with diverse student populations.


Preferred



  • TRIO Program alumnus/alumna or experience working with TRIO programs.


Requirements



  • Current Act 33, Act 34, and FBI clearances (issued within the past 5 years).

  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Ability to travel to Mercyhurst University and meet employment eligibility requirements.


Pay


$25.18/hour
