LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Financial Analyst to work for a great organization in the Yaphank, NY area. This is a Full time, contract role. We are looking for a qualified Financial Analyst to start within a week. Pay $38-40 dollars per hour.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a Finance Business Partner to support project teams by providing financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and business guidance across multiple projects. This role will partner closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate cost tracking, financial visibility, and overall project performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen, analytical skills, and the ability to influence business decisions through meaningful reporting and insights.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with Project Managers and team members to ensure accurate monthly capture of project costs and financial data.
- Prepare regular financial reports and analysis related to utilization, labor, open commitments, project costs, and overall performance.
- Support bids and proposals by reviewing cost estimates, developing pricing models, and identifying financial risks and opportunities.
- Assist with monthly financial close activities, including project cost analysis and maintenance of financial systems.
- Conduct variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and original bid estimates, providing recommendations and corrective actions where needed.
- Identify project financial risks and opportunities and work with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
- Develop and enhance financial reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics to improve project visibility and decision-making.
- Drive process improvements to ensure accurate and timely project cost reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, and Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to financial planning, reporting, and project accounting.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Program Finance, or related disciplines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of PowerPoint, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to partner across departments.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and/or Program Finance.
- Experience working with project-based accounting environments.
- Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint (CP) and Epicor ERP systems.
- Experience creating dashboards, financial reporting tools, and performance metrics.
