We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing accounting and finance team in Reidsville, NC. This position will support day-to-day accounting operations and play an important role in the monthly and year-end close processes.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on general ledger experience, strong reconciliation skills, and the ability to investigate discrepancies and ensure financial information is accurate and properly supported.
Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Perform bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Research and resolve account discrepancies and unusual transactions.
- Maintain accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other accounting schedules.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
- Analyze account activity and help identify variances or inconsistencies.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with special projects and process improvements within the accounting department.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Hands-on experience with journal entries, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.
- Understanding of GAAP and standard month-end close procedures.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with formulas, lookups, and pivot tables.
- Experience with QuickBooks required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across departments.
Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
