About the Role

Supply Chain Specialist
Location: Houston, TX 77024
Reports To: Supply Chain Manager
Duration: 8+ month Contract
Pay Rate: $23-28/hour
Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Supply Chain Specialist to support the efficient flow of materials, inventory, and purchasing activities across the organization. This role will work closely with vendors, internal stakeholders, and logistics partners to ensure products and materials are delivered on time and within budget. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where problem-solving and collaboration are key to operational success.
Key Responsibilities Supply Chain Operations
  • Coordinate purchasing, inventory, and logistics activities to support business operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with internal teams to maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Track purchase orders, shipments, and deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment.
  • Resolve supply chain issues, delays, and discrepancies while minimizing business impact.
  • Maintain accurate records within ERP and inventory management systems.
Vendor & Logistics Management
  • Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and third-party partners regarding orders and delivery schedules.
  • Assist with vendor performance tracking and supplier relationship management.
  • Support sourcing activities, quote requests, and supplier evaluations as needed.
  • Collaborate with logistics providers to optimize shipping schedules and transportation costs.
Reporting & Process Improvement
  • Analyze inventory, purchasing, and operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare reports related to inventory levels, supplier performance, and supply chain metrics.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost savings, efficiency, and service levels.
  • Assist with process documentation and implementation of best practices across supply chain functions.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, inventory, procurement, or logistics.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
  • Experience with demand planning, inventory control, or procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working with vendors, suppliers, and logistics providers.
  • APICS/ASCM certification or other supply chain-related certifications is a plus.
Pay Details: $23.00 to $28.00 per hour
