Cost ControllerA confidential and growing organization is seeking an experienced
Cost Controller to support project cost control, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and project performance analysis.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting or finance professional who enjoys working closely with project managers, leadership, vendors, subcontractors, and accounting teams to drive accurate reporting, cost visibility, and strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities- Track, monitor, and reconcile project commitments, including subcontracts, purchase orders, and uncommitted exposure against baseline budgets.
- Review subcontractor and vendor invoices to ensure alignment with project progress.
- Update cost projections to reflect project changes, trends, risks, and potential budget impacts.
- Track and administer change orders, claims, and scope changes while ensuring proper approvals.
- Approve purchase orders in Deltek and support contract administration and vendor onboarding.
- Maintain project cash flow forecasts and support customer invoicing.
- Coordinate cost and schedule data, including earned value, productivity tracking, and cash flow reporting.
- Prepare budget performance reports, variance analysis, cash flow reports, and Estimate at Completion (EAC) reporting.
- Provide project managers and leadership with insights into project risks, opportunities, and financial performance.
- Partner with project accounting to reconcile budgets, forecasts, and accounting records.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting, cost control, project accounting, or financial analysis experience.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cash flow reporting, and project financial reporting.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
