Staff Accountant LHH is seeking a motivated accounting professional to join a growing finance team. This opportunity is ideal for an individual looking to expand their experience in full-cycle accounting while supporting a portfolio of operating entities. The role will be responsible for financial reporting, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and collaboration with various operational teams to ensure accurate financial records and reporting. This position is direct hire and will pay between $55K and $70K annually.
Responsibilities - Perform month-end close activities and help maintain accurate financial records across assigned entities.
- Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and recurring transactions.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
- Analyze financial data and explain fluctuations compared to budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
- Review bank activity, balance sheet accounts, and internal account transactions for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for management review.
- Maintain organized accounting documentation and support internal control procedures.
- Partner with internal departments to gather financial information and ensure accurate reporting of project and capital-related expenditures.
- Support cash management activities, including monitoring balances and assisting with funding requirements.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and other financial planning initiatives.
- Provide support during audits and assist with special projects as assigned.
- Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting effectiveness.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related experience.
- At least 1 year of accounting experience involving journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience using ERP, accounting, or financial management software is beneficial.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn within a team-oriented setting.
