Our client is seeking an experienced Supply Chain & Logistics Supervisor to lead purchasing, logistics, inventory coordination, supplier management, and domestic and international freight activities. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can balance day-to-day operational needs with long-term cost savings, process improvements, and supplier performance. The anticipated salary for this role is between $75,000 and $95,000 a year.
Responsibilities:· Oversee daily supply chain, purchasing, logistics, and transportation activities.
· Manage domestic and international shipments, including freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, tariffs, duties, and required documentation.
· Monitor and negotiate freight rates while identifying opportunities to reduce transportation costs.
· Manage supplier relationships, including vendor selection, pricing, terms, lead times, quality, and overall performance.
· Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics, including on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and order accuracy.
· Partner with production, service, and aftermarket teams to ensure materials and parts are available when needed.
· Monitor inventory levels, replenishment needs, critical components, and excess or slow-moving inventory.
· Identify potential material shortages, supplier delays, and long-lead items and proactively resolve issues before they impact operations.
· Supervise and provide direction to the Purchasing Administrator, ensuring purchasing activities, purchase orders, vendor communication, and follow-up are completed accurately and on time.
· Manage and follow up on past-due purchase orders and supplier commitments.
· Maintain accurate purchasing and supply chain information within the ERP system.
· Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, minimize expedited freight, and mitigate supply chain risks.
· Use data and reporting to evaluate supplier and freight performance and support business decisions.
· Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth communication and effective supply chain handoffs.
Qualifications:· 3+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, purchasing, procurement, or a related manufacturing environment.
· Experience with domestic and international freight and logistics.
· Strong understanding of import/export processes.
· Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
· Proven vendor management and negotiation skills.
· Experience with supplier selection and performance management.
· Inventory management experience.
· Experience using an ERP system.
· Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and follow-up abilities.
· Demonstrated ability to identify cost savings and improve operational efficiency.
· Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
