Position OverviewThe HR Manager is responsible for maintaining and enhancing an organization's human resources function by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. This role partners closely with leadership to support employee performance, employee wellness, and key initiatives that strengthen organizational culture.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and administer organization-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with business objectives and federal and state employment laws.
- Promote positive employee relations through the design, communication, and interpretation of HR policies and programs.
- Maintain compensation programs, partner with leadership on pay adjustments, and support the development and implementation of pay structures.
- Partner with payroll personnel to support payroll administration.
- Manage HR budgets and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers.
- Coordinate and promote employee training and development programs.
- Manage goal-setting and performance evaluation processes.
- Oversee employee benefits programs, monitor trends, and recommend enhancements.
- Respond to employee and management inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Lead employee relations activities, including counseling, investigations, corrective actions, performance management, and recognition initiatives.
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and new hire orientation processes.
- Provide HR guidance and coaching to team members.
- Generate reports and metrics to support compliance efforts and proactive HR decision-making.
Experience and Education Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience in an HR Manager or equivalent leadership capacity. Experience supporting a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Human Resources principles, practices, and employment legislation. HR certification is preferred.
- Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws, labor regulations, compliance requirements, and immigration processes.
Skills and Qualifications- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong change management capabilities.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships and resolve workplace issues.
- Strong written communication skills, including experience preparing reports and professional correspondence.
Work Environment- Onsite position based in Fairfield, California.
- Supports a manufacturing facility operating across three shifts
- Occasional schedule flexibility may be required to address employee relations matters or workplace investigations occurring outside of standard business hours.
