Contract Duration: 6 months with potential for further extension
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, self-motivated BI Reporting Analyst to join our client in Mountain View, CA on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an environment where they can take ownership of complex analytical projects from initial business question through final recommendation and delivery.
The successful candidate will be a strong self-starter who can work effectively and independently, navigate ambiguity, and translate large and complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that influence sales strategy and execution.
This position combines advanced analytics, business intelligence, data visualization, experimentation, data engineering, and executive-level storytelling. You will partner with sales, operations, and data stakeholders to understand business challenges, develop rigorous analyses, build scalable reporting solutions, and communicate findings in a way that enables business leaders to make informed decisions.
The ideal candidate brings strong SQL expertise, hands-on experience with modern data warehouse environments, experience building dashboards and visualizations, and the ability to apply AI-enabled tools to analytics and reporting workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Analytics & Business Insights

• Own analytical projects from initial problem definition through data gathering, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of findings.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate ambiguous sales and operational questions into structured, data-driven analyses.
• Analyze sales performance and other relevant business data to uncover trends, patterns, opportunities, and areas requiring further investigation.
• Translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations that help inform sales strategy and execution.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses to answer emerging business questions and support timely decision-making.
• Simplify complex datasets and analytical concepts into insights that business stakeholders can quickly understand and act upon.

Reporting, Dashboards & Data Visualization

• Build, maintain, and communicate detailed reports, dashboards, and visualizations that provide meaningful business insights.
• Develop scalable BI solutions that enable stakeholders to monitor performance and better understand business results.
• Create clear and intuitive data visualizations designed for both analytical users and senior business stakeholders.
• Maintain and manage a repository of reusable reporting templates, visualization frameworks, and analytical views.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve the usability, consistency, and effectiveness of reporting and dashboard solutions.
• Utilize BI and visualization platforms, with experience in Tableau or Qlik Sense considered highly relevant.

Data Management & Engineering

• Gather, clean, consolidate, and prepare large datasets from databases and other available data sources.
• Productionalize datasets used for dashboards, recurring reporting, and broader analytics needs.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve existing data sources, reporting datasets, and analytical processes.
• Build data pipelines or perform ETL activities when required to support analytics and reporting.
• Validate data quality and maintain a high degree of accuracy and integrity across analyses and deliverables.
• Develop reusable approaches to segmentation, aggregation, and dataset preparation.

Experimentation & Measurement

• Design and analyze A/B tests using test-and-control methodologies.
• Evaluate experimental results and translate findings into meaningful business conclusions.
• Perform performance attribution analyses to understand the impact of business initiatives and sales activities.
• Apply rigorous analytical thinking to ensure findings are appropriately interpreted and communicated.

AI-Enabled Analytics

• Utilize AI-enabled analytics and reporting tools to improve analytical workflows, reporting, and business insights.
• Leverage tools such as Claude and Cursor as part of modern analytics workflows.
• Identify opportunities to scale and build AI-enabled analytical solutions.
• Explore ways to simplify repetitive analytical work and improve scalability through AI-enabled approaches.

Technical Qualifications

• Advanced SQL skills with a strong ability to independently query, segment, aggregate, transform, and analyze large datasets.
• Experience working with modern data warehouse and analytics technologies such as:
  • Databricks
  • Amazon Redshift
  • Spark SQL
  • Amazon Athena
• Experience developing dashboards and visualization solutions using modern business intelligence platforms.
• Experience with Tableau and/or Qlik Sense is particularly helpful.
• Hands-on experience gathering, cleaning, consolidating, and preparing large datasets for analysis.
• Experience building or supporting ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Experience developing production-ready datasets used for recurring analytics, dashboards, or reporting.
• Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests and test-and-control experiments.
• Experience conducting performance attribution analysis.
• Experience utilizing AI-enabled analytics and reporting tools, including tools such as Claude and Cursor.
• Demonstrated ability to develop scalable analytical or AI-enabled solutions.
• Python experience is a plus.

Education

• Undergraduate degree preferred.
• Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field is desired.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour
