Financial Fraud Investigator
LHH Top Talent is searching for a Financial Fraud Investigator for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Richmond, Virginia. This role is ideal for professionals who can independently investigate suspected fraud, manage case documentation, and communicate findings clearly.
Key Responsibilities
• Investigate suspected fraud or illegal activity involving employees, vendors, customers, or third parties.
• Gather, review, and document evidence while maintaining accurate case files.
• Coordinate information and reporting with appropriate law enforcement authorities when required.
• Help prevent, detect, and address fraudulent activity involving customer accounts.
• Follow legal, regulatory, and internal requirements for case management and evidence handling.
• Communicate facts, policies, and recommended actions to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Three to five or more years of related experience.
• Practical knowledge of fraud investigations, case management, evidence handling, or a closely related area.
• Ability to work independently with general supervision and resolve difficult, non-routine issues.
• Strong written communication, documentation, judgment, and information-gathering skills.
Employment Requirements
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Must successfully complete required criminal background and credit screenings, subject to applicable law.
• Must be available for hybrid schedule and rotating Saturday coverage.
Additional Details:
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch and
rotating Saturdays• Work arrangement: Hybrid, with three required in-office days each week
• Pay: $30 to $45 per hour, based on experience
