About the Opportunity A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive support to attorneys and paralegals in a fast-paced litigation practice. This position requires strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court filings, document preparation, and case management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional client service and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities - Draft, edit, and prepare legal correspondence, pleadings, briefs, discovery materials, and other litigation documents.
- Open, organize, and maintain client and matter files in accordance with firm procedures.
- Assist with case management, including monitoring deadlines, tracking case activity, and coordinating litigation-related tasks.
- Format and file documents in state and federal courts, including electronic filings.
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule depositions, hearings, conferences, meetings, and travel arrangements.
- Track court dates, filing deadlines, and discovery obligations.
- Process attorney expense reimbursements and other administrative support tasks.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client and case-related information.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to ensure timely completion of assignments.
Qualifications - Minimum of 3 years of litigation legal assistant or litigation support experience.
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery processes, and legal terminology.
- Experience with state and federal court filings, including e-filing systems.
- Ability to prepare tables of contents, tables of authorities, and complex legal documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong proofreading and editing abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal technology platforms.
- Appellate filing experience is a plus.
