About the Role

  1. Support HUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
  2. Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  3. Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students withvarying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
  4. Assists in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
  5. Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
  6. Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
  7. Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
  8. Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  9. Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
  10. Ensures that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
  11. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and schools.
  12. Assumes responsibility for meeting his/her course and school-wide student performance goals.
  13. Demonstrates gains in student performance.
  14. Participates in professional growth training.
  15. Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. Must hold valid Arizona Teacher Certification with approved area/endorsement as needed for position.
  3. Must be appropriately certified in subject area of position at time of hire.
  4. Must have SEI or equivalent endorsement on Certificate or able to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  5. Must have a Secondary Certificate with Social Studies as approved area.
  6. No convictions for felonies or crimes against children.
  7. Valid IVP Finger Print Clearance Card.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop or kneel.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
