About the Role

Accounts Receivable Specialist LHH is working with a client that is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support commercial collections and cash application activities. This role is responsible for managing customer accounts, posting payments, resolving discrepancies, and improving cash flow through timely collection efforts. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $21 and $25/hr. Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of B2B customer accounts and collect outstanding balances.
  • Contact customers regarding past-due invoices and payment commitments.
  • Apply payments received via check, ACH, wire, and lockbox transactions.
  • Research and resolve short payments, deductions, chargebacks, and unapplied cash.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and investigate payment discrepancies.
  • Monitor aging reports and prioritize collection activities.
  • Partner with customers and internal teams to resolve billing issues.
  • Maintain accurate collection notes and account records.
  • Process account adjustments, credit memos, and write-offs as needed.
  • Assist with month-end AR reconciliations and reporting.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of accounts receivable experience with a focus on B2B collections and cash application.
  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable, aging analysis, and payment reconciliation.
  • Experience resolving deductions, disputes, and unapplied cash.
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
  • Experience in a high-volume transaction environment.
  • Knowledge of deduction management and commercial collections processes.
  • Experience with automated cash application tools and electronic payment platforms.
