Integration Engineer III (HL7/FHIR)
This role is responsible for the design, development, and support of HL7 and FHIR integrations that connect healthcare systems. The Integration Engineer III will build message transformations, manage routing workflows, and provide support for production integrations in a healthcare environment. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective integration solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the build, implementation, and technical support of system integration technology, including IHCC, Epic Bridges, HL7, and FHIR.
- Provide post-implementation and production support for integration technologies, including on-call responsibilities.
- Analyze IT architecture requirements and system compatibility to implement integration solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, application teams, and business partners as a subject matter expert on system integration.
- Maintain working documentation, data flows, and an inventory of interfaces.
- Participate in IT processes including analysis, design, testing, and change control using Agile and traditional project management methodologies.
- Coordinate the implementation of new and revised functions with IT personnel, vendors, and customers.
- Ensure integration best practices and standard operating procedures are followed.
Required Qualifications
Education: An Associate Degree is required, preferably in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years in IT or a related business, preferably within a healthcare provider environment, in a role with responsibilities for implementation, technical troubleshooting, and customer support.
Certifications: Epic Bridges certification is required.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient knowledge of HL7 standards and integration architecture.
- Experience with Intersystems HealthConnect Cloud (IHCC).
- Knowledge of FHIR.
- Familiarity with IP protocols, file transfer standards (FTP, SFTP), and Web Services.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems.
- Certification in InterSystems Health Connect Specialist.
- Intermediate knowledge of CI/CD pipeline code promotion workflows.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000.00 to $135,000.00 annually. A comprehensive benefits package is available to eligible employees.
