Benefits Manager for a contract opportunity. This position is fully onsite in
Overland Park, Kansas , and offers the opportunity to lead and support employee benefits administration while ensuring a positive employee experience and compliance with all applicable regulations.
Position Details - Job Title: Benefits Manager

- Employment Type: Contract-to-hire
- Pay Rate: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Benefits: Standard benefits offered during the contract assignment
Position Summary The Benefits Manager will oversee the administration and management of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement, wellness, and leave programs. This individual will serve as a key resource for employees regarding benefit-related questions, vendor coordination, enrollment processes, and compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities - Manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs.
- Partner with benefit vendors, brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth program delivery.
- Coordinate open enrollment activities, benefit communications, and employee education efforts.
- Review and process benefit-related changes, enrollments, terminations, and qualifying life events.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including ACA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements.
- Analyze benefits data and prepare reports on utilization, participation, and program effectiveness.
- Resolve employee benefit inquiries and provide exceptional customer service and support.
- Assist with leave administration and coordinate with third-party leave providers as needed.
- Maintain accurate employee records and benefit documentation.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and employee satisfaction.
Qualifications - Minimum of 4+ years of experience in benefits administration, benefits management, or a related Human Resources function.
- Strong understanding of employee benefit plans and applicable compliance regulations.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and employee benefit programs.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications - Prior experience overseeing comprehensive employee benefits programs.
- Benefits certification (CEBS, CBP, or similar) is a plus.
- Experience working in a fast-paced organizational environment.
