About the Role

LHH is seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join a small, onsite office in North Charlotte. This role will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting function, processing payroll, handling payroll tax-related responsibilities, and supporting HR for a small team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable owning the full accounting cycle in a hands-on small office environment.
Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records for the business.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor payments, customer invoicing, payment posting, and account follow-up.
  • Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations on a regular basis.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Process payroll for a small team, ensuring accuracy of hours, deductions, earnings, and payroll records.
  • Prepare, reconcile, and assist with payroll tax filings and related payroll tax compliance requirements.
  • Support employee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, deductions, and coordination with benefits providers.
  • Maintain organized employee, payroll, benefits, vendor, and accounting records.
  • Prepare financial reports, cash flow updates, and other accounting summaries for management as needed.
  • Partner with outside accountants, payroll providers, benefits vendors, and tax professionals as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, payroll regulations, and applicable tax deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper, Bookkeeper, Accounting Specialist, or similar accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, payroll, and payroll taxes.
  • Experience processing payroll and supporting benefits administration for a small team.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; QuickBooks experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional communication skills and ability to work closely with leadership, employees, vendors, and external partners.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.
Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
